A Pulitzer-nominated freelance journalist, Gery L. Deer is a 30-year veteran of copywriting and marketing communications. His work includes a wide range of areas from newspaper and television to advertising and independent film. He is the owner, creative directort, and copywriter for GLD Enterprises Communications, Ltd. in Jamestown, Ohio, a 22-year-old marketing communications firm. Gery was also the co-founder and served 11 years as Executive Director of the Western Ohio Writers Association.
For more than a decade, Gery was a syndicated op-ed columnist. His long-running series titled “Deer In Headlines,” ended in May 2018. He is also a business and op-ed contributor and freelance segment producer for the WDTN-TV2 daytime program, Living Dayton, in Dayton, Ohio.
