ML hails from the dark, beautiful places in Appalachia. Her childhood was cluttered, in the best possible way, by her father’s copies of Poe, Bradbury and their contemporaries as well as her mother’s pretty random vinyl LP collection. She grew up beneath misty mountains with a book in one hand and a guitar slung over her shoulder.
As a young person, ML ventured out of her home state to study biology and literature at Cornell University. Homesick, she returned to Kentucky to complete an MD and PhD in Microbiology.
In 2015, ML’s life took a strange and unexpected turn and she suddenly found herself writing books, drinking exactly the right amount of coffee and playing a lot of bass clarinet.
Most recently, ML is accepting her fate as rock star, touring with her original project Bandshee and adventuring again with her books. She is currently working on three series as an author for Pro-Se Press.
