I’m the Cabin Goddess.

Wait, not enough!? OK here it goes:

Hello, my name is Kriss Morton and I’ve been embroiled in some way or fashion in the Indie world of books for over a decade. My parents introduced me to indie filmmakers and film projects due to their own support way back in the early 90’s and I’ve always been someone to support small start ups.

I have several different skill sets especially within the world of creative endeavors and the arts. When I discovered self-pub authors and how I could feed my need to read prolifically and not break the bank. It ended up with me applying my skills as an artist and gifted writer with my gift of marketing skills and branded myself into the Cabin Goddess, the book blogger who founded “Review and. Recipe” and created “Fourth-Wall Friday” both unique ways to introduce my readers to new indie authors.

Over the 14 years I’ve honed my use of social media and creativity to brand authors and book franchises while becoming part of this magical, exciting powerful, sometimes volatile but always an exciting wonderful industry and community. I have a lot of experience and with my education, my analytical mind has a lot to offer within the industry also.

Over the years I’ve written hundreds of specialized recipes just for the books, designed authors marketing packages from the marketing to designing the print ads. I’ve even had a few small businesses touring books and authors some who have gone on to become NYT, USA and Amazon Best Selling authors.

I was born in Washington state and due to marrying a military man, I’ve lived all over the country. I ended up in Alaska in 2003 and it became my home of heart. Everyone who knows me in the Indie world knows me as Cabin Goddess and my adventures with living off the grid. Ow I’m back in the -48! living my other dream of becoming a professional commercial cook and baker working for an amazing gourmet catering and deli. I still do graphics design freelancing on the side and despite this pandemic am continuing to always learn and support our industry.
