Jim Miller has eight published books that cover WWII, the Cold War, and Vietnam. He lived his entire life in a military world. Child of a career Army officer, he joined the Air Force and served as a special operations and transport pilot in the Vietnam war and many other conflicts. Retiring after a 24-year-career spent at dozens of bases across the U.S., Germany, Thailand and Japan, he went on to fly UPS 747 cargo jets as did many other vets.

He has known veterans of many generations and many nationalities: WWII, Korea, Vietnam, the Middle East and many smaller conflicts. In their day, they lived and fought with total commitment. He understands the sense of loss after coming home as ordinary civilians. That void yearns to be filled with action and the kind of adventure of One Last Mission.
