Born in Oregon and raised in Oklahoma, I have always been surrounded by books. My mother is an avid reader and my dad was fond of reading books such as The Hobbit to my brothers and I at bedtime. During childhood, if I wasn’t writing poetry or short stories, I could be found with my nose buried in a book.
As a mother, I love reading to my sons, and I want them to grow up with the same kind of memories about books as I have. My hope with my Donnie and Earl books is to help parents create lasting memories with their children and instill in them a love of reading.
When I am not working, I enjoy being with my husband and our sons, as well as spending time with my friends. My other favorite things to do include reading, crafting, playing games (both tabletop and video), watching TV shows/movies, and cuddling with my animals.
