Elizabeth Donald is a writer fond of things that go chomp in the night. She is the recipient of the Mimi Zanger Literary Award and three Darrell Awards for her novels and short stories, as well as a finalist for an Imadjinn Award for screenplay writing, among others.

She is the founder of the Literary Underworld small-press cooperative; an award-winning journalist with more than 25 years in journalism; and a nature and art photographer. She holds a masters degree in media studies and an MFA in creative writing from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, and teaches journalism and English composition.

Her horror, science fiction and fantasy books include the Blackfire and Nocturne dark fantasy series, and her work has appeared in numerous anthologies and literary magazines.

She lives with her family in a haunted house in Illinois. In her spare time, she has no spare time.
