August Aguilar is a Writer, Producer, Director, and comic book creator that founded Strange Films in 2016. Strange Films is an award winning multi-media production company that is passionate about creating Horror and Bizarre stories through film and comic books. Following the Marvel formula of storytelling, the tales live in a shared universe with interconnecting stories, interesting characters, filled with suspense and terror that leaves fans wanting more.
Born in Philadelphia and raised in East Tennessee, August studied Radio/TV/Film at East Tennessee State University and worked for local news broadcasting before pursuing an independent career.
Since 2016, August has been featured by the Philadelphia Film Society along with numerous TV, radio, and podcast shows about Strange Films. Outside his unique brand of storytelling, merch, books, and continued growing fanbase, he is also the Director of El Burrito Blog, an independent online publishing company that serves to create, collaborate, and promote other independent creatives in and outside the U.S. who are looking for their voices to be heard.
August currently resides in Knoxville, TN, and frequently travels to Philadelphia for projects and collaborations.
