Tended by the green thumb of Andrea Jones, the Neverland grows ever more gripping. Author of the “Hook & Jill” Saga, Jones is also the editor of a classics restoration program. In tribute to J.M. Barrie, she returned the story that will never grow old to its 1911 origins in “Peter and Wendy: The Restored Text” (Reginetta Press).
Although the “Hook & Jill” Saga is literary fiction making readers re-think their assumptions, the books in this series are both “naughty and nautical,” building a reputation for Jones’ skill in penning scenes of intimacy. Jones believes a love scene should not only satisfy her readers, but also serve to advance her plots and relate to the grand scheme, revealing the inner workings of her characters.
Jones’ “Hook & Jill” Saga appeals to a variety of readers, not only those who love literary fiction and a poetical turn of phrase, but also fantasy fiction readers, J.M. Barrie scholars, Peter Pan (and Captain Hook) enthusiasts, pirate reenactors, and mavens of women’s studies.
Andrea Jones earned a B.A. in Oral Interpretation from the University of Illinois, with a Literature Minor. She enjoyed an earlier career in television production and received theatrical training. These experiences form the essential environment to nurture her writing. Jones garners a rich harvest as a storyteller extraordinaire.
