Documentary – Seeds of Sovereignty 11:00 AM

Synopsis: Seeds of Sovereignty is a thought-provoking documentary that explores Mexico’s growing struggle with the United States to protect its biodiversity and food sovereignty. At the center of the conflict is U.S. pressure on Mexico to adopt GMO corn and industrial farming practices, posing a serious threat to the country’s traditional agriculture and environmental health.
In response, the Mexican government and advocacy groups have mobilized to resist these efforts, sparking a powerful movement to safeguard food sovereignty, biodiversity, and sustainability.
Through striking visuals and compelling narratives, Seeds of Sovereignty exposes the harmful effects of industrial farming in both nations and challenges viewers to reflect on a country’s right to provide its people with safe, nutritious food while preserving its environment and cultural heritage.

Synopsis: How is the world affected by a catastrophic event? Everyday people live through a government mandated quarantine during a global pandemic while desperate scientists race to find a cure before it’s too late.
Lead virologist Edward Bellows races to find a cure to the Nix virus as the world collapses under the weight of this worldwide horror. Meanwhile, roommates Britt and Marnie, are forced to live together, while a couple, Matt and Cathy, separated between continents, must all deal with their newfound realities.

Documentary – It’s All Connected: The Art of Sustainability 1:23 PM

Synopsis: “It’s All Connected: The Art of Sustainability” takes viewers on a tour of Nashville and Middle Tennessee, featuring its art, waterways, and often unseen corners. The movie showcases community leaders from Urban Green Lab, Cumberland River Compact, Nashville Waste Services, Nashville Zoo, Edgehill Garden, and Bell Garden along with Nashville Public Library. The film also explores what NPL is doing through its daily operations and collections to educate the public on sustainable practices through its Seed Exchange, Library of Things, and various community projects.

Synopsis: We all know the familiar tale of Ebenezer Scrooge from “A Christmas Carol.” How he spent Christmas Eve being guided through a reflection of his life by three spirits, how he repented, and when he awoke the next morning, he was a changed man. At least that is what we are led to assume since that’s where the tale ends.
However, sometimes an ending is just the place for an all-new beginning… and this is where the untold twist in the life of Ebenezer Scrooge continues. The day after Christmas finds him suddenly much less merry, and much more… dead. Reunited with his old partner Jacob Marley, a not so tiny Tim and his beloved sister Fan; they are tasked with earning their redemption by helping others to find their own. Their first adventure brings them to modern day Oklahoma where a young mother and her family’s dream has turned into a nightmare. Our foursome must work together like their souls depend on it… because they do. This holiday movie is not just another re-telling of “A Christmas Carol”. Instead, it continues the story of Ebenezer Scrooge, diving deeper into the world-renowned characters we have all read about and love.
This film immerses itself into the Ebenezer Scrooge Universe focusing on family, redemption and forgiveness while literally being filled with “Christmas Spirit(s)”.

Documentary – Tinseltown’s Queer: 30 Years Later 9:57 PM

Director: Nicholas Snow
Synopsis: Tinseltown’s Queer” is a documentary about Nicholas Snow’s groundbreaking public access television show, “Tinseltown’s Queer,” which aired in the 1990s. The show focused on coming out in Hollywood and advocated for LGBTQ+ representation during a time when such visibility was rare. The documentary, “Tinseltown’s Queer: 30 Years Later,” celebrates the show’s 30th anniversary and includes archival footage of celebrities and LGBTQ+ activists. It highlights Snow’s pioneering role in challenging the status quo and pushing for LGBTQ+ liberation

Satisfied with the order of her home affairs, she sets out to meet him, a man she chooses to name “Keith”. As the day progresses, Tessa encounters a chef/restaurant owner, Niko, and his vivacious waitress mother, Katina, from whom she learns a Greek philosophy/saying that really gets her thinking maybe…? I mean, she is Katina, a Greek woman in her late seventies who’s full of life and is dating a man ten years younger than her, so she may be right when she says, “the old chicken’s got the juice.”

Synopsis: “Closed Gates” shines a spotlight on the challenges faced by autistic children in India seeking inclusive education, offering a touching narrative that explores themes of resilience, empathy, and the importance of inclusivity. Against the backdrop of societal biases and discrimination, the film follows autistic child Raju and his mother, Sana, as they navigate a world often lacking in understanding and acceptance.
The story unfolds as Raju grapples through persistent bullying and discrimination at his school. Despite his mother Sana’s unwavering advocacy for inclusive education, societal prejudices and intolerance of other parents push towards Raju’s expulsion. But, amidst these adversities, Sana challenges prevailing stereotypes about her son’s abilities.
A transformative moment unfolds when Sana recognizes her son’s interest in athletics, she encourages his participation in the school’s sports day alongside other children, challenging assumptions about his capabilities.
As the threat of expulsion looms, Raju faces challenges during training with the Physical Education teacher. However, a pivotal moment arises during sports day preparations when the PT teacher struggles, leading Sana to step in and guide Raju to the finish line, symbolizing hope in adversity.
During the sports event, Raju encounters mockery from biased peers and parents but bravely joins the runners. A stumble turns into a moment of empathy when a fellow athlete offers support, sparking kindness among former bullies.
As “Closed Gates” delves into the complexities of inclusive education and the impact of stereotypes on individuals like Raju, the film invites viewers to reflect on their own beliefs and attitudes towards diversity and inclusion.
In a world where differences often divide us, “Closed Gates” serves as a beacon of hope, reminding us all of the profound impact that empathy and understanding can have in breaking down barriers and fostering a more inclusive society by opening the minds.

Synopsis: CROMAESCOPE is a comedy series made up of 8 episodes. Each one is inspired by different B-series science fiction films from the 1950s, imitating their aesthetics and themes in a comic tone, with fast-paced dialogues and funny situations. The clumsy practical effects, combined with an obvious use of ‘chroma’ technology and the sober creation of backgrounds using AI, reinforce the idea that it is a production made in a more modest time.
Documentary – Best in Class 9: 55 PM

Director: David W. King
Synopsis: Best in Class celebrates the ongoing 25-year legacy of beloved Polson, Montana High School history teacher / assistant football coach Pat Danley.
Longer Synopsis: Everyone has a favorite teacher, and Polson High School history teacher Pat Danley is the first to come to mind for many present and former students. Mr. Danley is regarded as a sort of celebrity in Polson, flagged down numerous times by students, parents, and colleagues when he’s out in public. His students love his engaging, conversational teaching style, which is sprinkled with humor and a genuine interest in them. “Danley” is also a beloved Polson Pirates assistant football coach. His players thrive under his guidance and participation in practices and games. This film celebrates Pat Danley and his Best in Class legacy.

Documentary Louisville Extreme Park 9:40 AM

Director: Christopher Cook
Synopsis: This is Louisville Extreme Park. Told from the skater perspective. After 3 nights straight of gun violence at the Dave Armstrong skate-park in Louisville, KY, the city of Louisville locked down the skate-park, putting security devices in place, and temporarily increasing police presence, and in a historic move, closed the skate-park after 11pm after it being 24/7 since its opening. Here the stories of those who were there, and those in the community who serve the park, are told from their perspective, along with footage exclusively obtained by destiny creates entertainment.

It depicts a world where the Rangers have disbanded after a devastating war, with each member pursuing their own paths, some darker than others. It features a mix of intense action sequences, including sword fights and gun battles, and delves into the personal struggles of the now-adult Rangers as they grapple with their past and confront a new threat.

Synopsis: After breaking ground for his new home Heath finds a mysterious looking artifact buried deep in the Earth as he’s digging up his outhouse. Bringing it back to his friend and roommate Kyle the two men realize with the help of their esoteric expert Mary that this artifact isn’t just a relic from the past, but something more sinister. Repressed memories start to seep through Heath’s mind, the mirrors no longer look right, and both the men keep noticing something in the distance watching…Will the two men be able to undo the curse put in motion?
