Better Beta Reading: Both Sides of the Pen: Presenter – Morgan Hazelwood. So you’ve been asked (or offered) to beta read for someone Or maybe *you’re* the one looking for beta readers. Coping with Imposter Syndrome: Presenter – Lynn Slaughter. Whether we’re just starting out as writers or are multi-published, we may be susceptible to imposter syndrome, those nagging feelings of self-doubt and fear that others will figure out we have no idea what we’re doing. Even celebrated authors are not immune. Maya Angelou once said, “Each time I write a book, I face that yellow pad and the challenge is so great. I have written eleven books, but each time I think “Uh oh, they’re going to find out now. I’ve run a game on everybody, and they’re going to find me out.” In this workshop, we’ll take a closer look at the symptoms of imposter syndrome, its root causes, and tips on how to overcome its negative effects on our writing journeys. (60 min)
