The Imaginarium Convention Returns for Its 6th Year In Louisville, Kentucky October 11-13!

The Imaginarium Convention returns to Louisville for its sixth year this October 11-13 at the Ramada Plaza Hotel and Conference Center.  Recognized in 2019 as Kentucky’s #1 writers event (and the second best in the Southeast USA) by The Writer Magazine, Imaginarium will host a weekend full of panels and workshops, an independent international film festival, a book fair and expo, cosplay, gaming, literary and film awards, and much more!

Final Destination franchise creator and Hollywood director/screenwriter Jeffrey Reddick is this year’s Guest of Honor, heading a list featuring over 200 professional guests, including writers, editors, publishers, filmmakers, comic creators, YouTubers, musicians, podcasters, cosplayers, screenwriters, and many more.  The 2019 Imaginator Guests include Hollywood director/producer Kevin Tenney, Bram Stoker Award-winning author Nicole Cushing, author John Wilkerson, and author/editor/comic creator Roland Mann!

Guests will be participating in over 130 workshop and panel sessions featuring all genres of writing and filmmaking, the mechanics and craft of creative writing, marketing, social media, publishing, editing, filmmaking, screenwriting, comic creation, game design, and many other topics pertaining to the world of storytelling!

A full book fair and expo will be running all weekend long, featuring not only a full array of authors, filmmakers, game designers, and their works, but also a broad range of arts and crafts, memorabilia, costuming and apparel, independent films, natural health and body products, and much more! 

Attendees will be seeing an increase in cosplay throughout the convention, with Imaginarium 2019 featuring some of the region’s top cosplay groups and organizations such as the Western Kentucky Ghostbusters, the Ohio River Valley Cosplayers and Prop Builders (O.R.C.S.), the Kentucky Browncoats, and the Airship Caduceus.  A costume contest will be held on Saturday evening, just prior to the masquerade dance hosted by DJ Keith Brockman of Soundoff!

An independent film festival will screen feature films, short films, documentaries, web series, and music videos.  Special showcase screenings will be hosted on the afternoon of October 11th by filmmaker Demetrius Witherspoon (Submerge: Echo 51, 2pm) and Silvio Wolf Busch (Guest of Honor, 2:30pm), the evening of October 11th by filmmaker Antonio Pantoja (One Must Fall, 7:15pm), and the afternoon of October 12th by filmmaker Amy McCorkle (Letters to Daniel, 11:50am), by filmmaker Tory Jones (Angel, 4pm) and by filmmaker Jon Higgins (United We Fall, 1:15pm), and on Sunday the 13th by Tommy B. Smith (The Road Between Worlds; A Horror Author’s Chronicles, 2:55pm).

Gaming will also be held throughout the weekend, featuring a wide range of table-top and RPG Games, card games, demonstrations by independent game developers, and more!

Each day of the Imaginarium weekend features a variety of live entertainment, including performances by Safiya Nawaar of Arabesque World Dance,  nationally-known bullwhip artist Gery Deer, magician and entertainer John Pyka, live music by the band Poetry of the Dead, a full show by the Kalashnikov Clowns with burlesque, Count Drahoon and his Troop in a live stage radio performance, live body art by Steve-o Shephard, a live podcast with Talk Nerdy To Me, and the award-winning Acro Alliance Duo.

The Imaginarium Convention Awards Banquet will be held on the Saturday evening of the Imaginarium 2019 weekend, where winners of the film festival and the Imadjinn Literary Awards will be announced.
