Kurt Robinson was born and raised in Frankfort, Kentucky. He has always been fascinated with story-telling from watching movies since he was very young. His writing began in high school when he wrote several short stories as assignments, but it didn’t stop there. In college, where he attended the University of Kentucky, he wrote several historical fiction short stories that were popular amongst his professors. He graduated from UK in 2013 with a degree in History.
It wasn’t but a few months after he graduated that he decided to begin writing on a novel. That novel was A Journey of Heart and Mind, which was eventually self-published in 2014. Since Kurt is an avid history buff he decided to make his second novel historical fiction. Catfish Alley took a year to research and another year to write, finally being self-published in 2017. Set in Frankfort in the early 1900s and based on a true story, the novel has become beloved in his hometown. His short story, The Bend in the River, is also a story set on the banks of the Kentucky River in Frankfort in the 1780s.
Kurt’s love for stories goes further than books. He enjoys watching movies whenever he is not writing and loves period films. Some of his favorites are Titanic, Ben-Hur, JFK, Gettysburg, E.T., The Dark Knight, Glory, Braveheart, and many, many more. His own story-telling takes strong influence from those classics and many others.
He is not set on one genre and has already written in three different genres and plans to mix it up for years to come.
