J L Mulvihill (Jen), is descendant from Hollywood royalty where her grandfather played in the big bands and her grandmother sang in movies. On the flip side of her family Jen gets some of her musical and writing talents from her other grandmother as well as her great talent as a fish whisperer from her grandfather. Relinquishing the spotlight of her rock star days where she sang with several bands in California, Jen now caters to her passion for telling stories and trying to catch the biggest fish.

Her y/a series, Steel Roots, is based in steampunk genre and engages the reader in a train hopping heart stopping adventure across a dystopian America enclosed within the walls of its own making. In this world a young girl must find her missing father while trying to maneuver the controlling world System she lives in.

Jen is also the author of a y/a fantasy/science fiction series, The Elsie Lind Chronicles. This epic adventure boasts of demons, dragons, and dark witches. From the strange and dark corners of her mind Jen has created an extraordinary fantasy world. Weaving Scandinavian folklore into the telling of the adventure of a young girl who is struck with amnesia and finds herself in the middle of an ancient forest in a world filled with mystery and danger.

Jen has several short stories published in the genres of fantasy, steampunk, horror, thrillers, as well as poetry and essays inspired by her life and the twisted world around her. She and is, an editor, public speaker, a talk show host for On The Page at Geeky Side TV, and an award-winning screenwriter.

Currently Jen is working on both her y/a series as well as several other writing projects including a science fiction novel and several movie scripts.
