Sheldon Gleisser was awarded the Individual Artist Grant from the Greater Columbus Arts Council in 2002 for his short play (written with Robert Flanagan) entitled “Version 2.0.” Gleisser’s short story “Souvenir” was runner-up in the 2006 Mary Shelley awards (sponsored by “Rosebud” magazine) for new stories of Horror, Fantasy and Science Fiction. His short story “Converts” was runner-up for the same award in 2008. Another short story, “Secrets of the Hive,” was runner-up in 2010, with a fourth short story, “Stillborn” runner-up in 2012.

All the stories were published in “Rosebud” magazine. His short story “And Son” was published in (614) magazine in December of 2015. Dianasaurus Rex his first novel, was published in October of 2019 by Hydra Publications.

“A Better and Nobler Man,” a full-length play about Chester A. Arthur’s relationship with Julia Sand, was performed in January of 2021 by Red Herring Theater. His original full length play The Schedule, was performed by Red Herring in June of 2022.

His TV pilot script for Dianasaurus Rex was a quarter finalist in the first ever Stage 32 TV writing contest in 2021.
