Missa Dixon commands one of the most extraordinary lives ever. Good thing because she planned it that way. To help a friend, Missa began writing in 2009. Finding she liked the challenge, Missa spread her wings into steampunk, urban fantasy, paranormal romance, and non-fiction. Her first published short story “For The Love of Steam” in the anthology Dreams of Steam that was a semi-finalist for the Darrell Award for Best Short Story of 2011. Which lead her to writing _For the Fear of Steam_ (2012 Dreams of Steam 2), “For the Hate of Steam” (2013 Dreams of Steam 4), and “For the Envy of Steam” (2014 Dreams of Steam 5).

Her first stand-alone book was a work of non-fiction called Interviews from the Ark written with Joy Ward, where we learn what’s really on your beloved pets mind. Blush with success she in barked into urban fantasy and is currently working on The River Series, a heady mix of the real life issues of otherkins saving the world while destroying them selves and each other.

In keeping with her life motto of “acquisition and distribution of
knowledge by any and all means necessary,” Missa produced a very
successful podcast called Missa’s Urban Home on Blog Talk Radio for two years. She keeps a full time post as a math and math and physic teacher. In her spare time Missa studies metaphysics and earned her Reiki master attunement in 2007. Missa happily lives outside Memphis, TN with her four rescued dogs, and a big collection of fantasy art.
